<< To start << Go back Monark (Sweden). Share information about Monark with others Updated: 2002-10-04 The Monark factory has a record back to pre World War one times. The factory had some successful dirtbikes with ILO engines back in the 50's. The bikes where "Blue Arrow" and "Blå Stinget". During the 50's the riders: Sten "Storken" Lundin and Ove Lundell won several international events during 1954 - 1958. Bengt »Spicky» Svensson, Ove Lundell, Bengt Winberg, Sven Falk, Lennart Bergh och Bengt Johansson, Hasse Ring and Berndt Hasselrot won the Marquee title at the 1954 ISDT event in Wales (Great Britain).
During the early 70's the Monark factory produced a Sachs equipped 125cc model, very similar to the KTM/Penton machines. They existed as both motocross and enduro models. These bikes where very popular and became to be an interesting alternative to Swedish teenagers for road use since they would outperform every single 125cc road machines, even perhaps the notoriously fast Zündapp KS125.
